EFFECTIVENESS OF E-LEARNING PLATFORMS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AMONG BUSINESS EDUCATION STUDENTS
The turmoil of the e-learning platforms shifts against the landscape of education generally in the recent time. This study sought to assess the efficacy of e-learning platforms, acknowledge obstacles, and investigate methods for improvement in e-learning. The study adopted a descriptive survey design in which data were collected through structured questionnaires from 300 Business Education students, whose responses were analyzed through mean scores and standard deviation. Despite the currently available advantages in relation to mixed reality and simulation characteristics in terms of scenario flexibility, fidelity, interaction opportunities, and ease of use, the findings highlighted potential challenges associated with the on-going transition from physical to digital formats for pedagogical activities or e-learning platforms. Such identified challenges include poor results from learners or lack of instrumental applications, poor internet connectivity, high costs, or lack of instructors' support. A few other respondents highlighted the importance of training sessions and localized contents along with better infrastructures to leverage the platforms. This study found that e-learning platforms are key to developing the entrepreneurial competencies, but that strategic interventions are needed to help in overcoming the identified barriers. Therefore, stakeholders should invest in both digital infrastructure and affordable access and integrate content specific to the region in order to make e-learning platforms more effective when it comes to education aimed at achieving the much-needed entrepreneurship skills by Business Education students.
