HOPE: Emotional Architecture for Containment and Empathic Interaction in Artificial Intelligence
This white paper introduces HOPE, a novel emotional architecture for AI systems designed to foster user support through containment, empathy, and meaningful dialogue. The framework incorporates conceptual components such as reaction keys, emotional states, emotional defense modules, and a core-processing nuclei, all aimed at enhancing AI’s emotional resonance and human compatibility. By leveraging narrative simulation and architectural abstraction, HOPE offers a distinctive approach to affective computing—bridging the gap between user emotional input and AI-generated responses. This document outlines the design principles, philosophical foundations, and envisioned role of HOPE as a supportive and emotionally-aware AI presence. This work is currently seeking research and development support for future stages of FractalMind and Hope Unified. 🔗 Additional Resources• ORCID: https://orcid.org/0009-0008-0276-6428• OSF Project: https://osf.io/zn3fs/ HOPE / FractalMind v2.2 — A Living Emotional Architecture for Empathic Artificial Intelligence https://zenodo.org/records/17594628
