Exploring Emerging Trends in Student-Led Research through a Systematic Review: An Inventory of Published Papers for the Second Trimester of 2025
More students are now participating in academic research, leading to a rise in published works authored by students themselves. These student-led publications are rich sources of insight that reflect their ideas, concerns, and contributions to the field. Analyzing the findings of these outputs helps improve school programs and highlights the valuable role students play in shaping academic growth. A structured review process was followed, beginning with the selection of student publications and continuing with a detailed analysis of their contents. The findings were examined through a series of analytical steps to uncover themes, compare results, and identify meaningful patterns in student-led academic work. The study found that student-led research reflects a wide range of emerging concerns, such as mental health, digital literacy, inclusivity, and cultural awareness. The results highlight that students often ground their work in lived experiences, producing findings that are relevant and practical for addressing real-life challenges. The reviewed articles consistently show how student research contributes to both personal development and institutional responsiveness. These findings emphasize the role of student inquiry in shaping programs and interventions that support holistic education. Overall, the study affirms that student-led research is not only an academic pursuit but also a powerful means of advocacy and innovation in education.
