MORPHOLOGY AND MORPHOMETRIC FEATURES OF THE SMALL INTESTINE IN THE OFFSPING BORN FROM MOTHERS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS (EXPERIMENTAL STUDY)
Diabetes mellitus (DM) in the mother during pregnancy is a serious medical and social problem that has a long-term impact on the health of the offspring. Hyperglycemia during gestation can lead to disruption of embryogenesis and postnatal development, including the formation and functioning of internal organs. In particular, the gastrointestinal tract, as a key system for the digestion and absorption of nutrients, can undergo significant structural and functional changes under the influence of unfavorable intrauterine conditions.
