The Digital Scholarship Centre (DSC): Advancing Research and Open Scholarship at SFU Library

This poster presentation shared the emergent work to centralize and unify digital scholarship services at SFU Library through the recently established Digital Scholarship Centre Working Group (DSCWG). Tasked with investigating open research and scholarship services in the library and identifying areas of existing strength and expertise, the DSCWG has taken a collaborative and consultative approach to improve user experience, mobilize expertise within the library, and identify evolving areas of strength and potential collaboration. Specifically, this poster outlines the stages of our DSC planning, describes some of the interesting complexities we faced in trying to develop a single definition of “digital scholarship,” and ultimately demonstrated the ways that open research and scholarship has informed both our process and values.
