Use Case (Pilot) 11: BrAPI4PSI - BrAPI Integration on PSI Hardware
BrAPI4PSI is developing a Breeding API (BrAPI) integration for phenotyping images recorded on PSI phenotyping systems in European high-throughput phenotyping facilities together with the company PSI. It is being developed as an example for the IPK PhenoSphere PhenoCrane system, which was built by PSI for the IPK Gatersleben. The PhenoSphere system currently uses a proprietary data management system to store, access, and analyze the images. To adhere to the FAIR principles the research data management should use open standards such as BrAPI (https://brapi.org/) and ISA-JSON in compliance with the MIAPPE standard. For experiment registration, the ISA Wizard is currently being considered to assist the user in creating FAIR- and ISA-compliant metadata. A BrAPI integration will FAIRify the PhenoCrane images captured atthe IPK Gatersleben.
