Abstract

Entrepreneurial leadership emerges as a distinctive approach in organizational management, characterized by its capacity to inspire risk-taking and visionary thinking. This systematic literature review examines the existing body of knowledge on how entrepreneurial leadership influences team innovation within tech startups in Bangalore, India, a hub of technological dynamism. Drawing from a comprehensive search across multiple databases, this study identifies key mechanisms through which leaders promote innovative behaviors, addresses associated challenges, and proposes avenues for future inquiry. Recognizing the interdependence of innovation and creativity, the review underscores that separating these concepts hinders a holistic understanding of their interplay in team settings. From an initial pool of 800 articles, 25 were selected for in-depth thematic analysis following rigorous inclusion criteria. Emergent themes include team collaboration, individual creative efficacy, and organizational innovation metrics, each explored in relation to the facilitative role of entrepreneurial leadership. Findings reveal that entrepreneurial leaders enhance team innovation by encouraging open communication, boosting confidence through mentoring, and linking leadership practices to tangible outcomes like patent filings. However, barriers such as resource constraints in small firms and cultural resistance pose significant hurdles, which can be mitigated through targeted training and supportive organizational climates.
