Founding Statement: Sociology of Renewal (CRR Theory)
The Sociology of Renewal introduces a new branch of sociological inquiry founded by Muhammad Yaqoob Laghari. It evolves from the Continuity–Rupture–Re-alignment (CRR) Theory and establishes a unified framework explaining how individuals, institutions, and societies transform through disruption, reflection, and re-alignment toward moral and structural renewal. The theory defines the Process of Renewal as a cyclical sequence—Continuity → Rupture → Generative Pivot → Re-alignment → New Continuity—demonstrating how learning and transformation emerge through rupture. It advances sociology from describing resilience (return to normal) to understanding renewal (evolution to a wiser normal). The Sociology of Renewal resonates with contemporary reflections by Ulrich Beck (risk society), Margaret Archer (reflexive agency), Zygmunt Bauman (liquid modernity), and Arjun Appadurai (capacity to aspire), yet extends their insights into a unified moral and transformative process that redefines how societies evolve through disruption. This founding statement formally declares the establishment of the Sociology of Renewal as a distinct sub-field of sociological and human-science inquiry, registered under DOI 10.5281/zenodo.17381291. The framework introduces a new sociological vocabulary—including the concepts Generative Pivot, Process of Renewal, and Continuity–Rupture–Re-alignment Sequence—and invites global collaboration for interdisciplinary research, policy reform, and social innovation. Every rupture holds the seed of renewal, and every renewal restores the continuity of life.
