Post-traumatic stress disorder and environmental induced infections among internally displaced persons in Adamawa state, Nigeria
Internal displacement continues to pose significant public health challenges in Nigeria, particularly affecting women and vulnerable populations. This study examines the responsiveness of Nigeria’s health systems and policy frameworks to the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs), with an emphasis on gender-based vulnerability. Using a mixed-methods design, the research explores how health services are accessed and utilized among displaced communities and assesses the role of existing national and sub-national policies in ensuring equitable healthcare delivery. Findings highlight systemic gaps, gender inequalities, and opportunities for policy integration that can strengthen health outcomes for displaced populations.
