The Application of Artificial Intelligence in Root Cause Analysis of Financial Conflicts in Saudi Arabia: A Framework and Case Study Investigation to a More Effective Digital Judiciary
This research paper investigates the mounting pressure on Saudi Arabia's conventional systems of justice to respond to the increasingly complex financial litigation resulting from the economic reform of Vision 2030. It argues that in order for the Kingdom to sustain its high growth and maintain investor confidence, a more effective and transparent system of justice is not only convenient but necessary. In order to overcome this challenge, this paper proposes a new conceptual model for applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of financial conflicts. The model based on AI is intended to transform judicial proceedings from reactive adjudication to proactive, system-based risk management. Utilizing a positive research methodology, the study develops a total AI-RCA model and adequately tests its usefulness through three illustrative Saudi case studies: a giga-project building construction dispute, a corporate shareholder dispute, and an digital financial services compliance infringement. Analysis reveals the system's capability for dramatically shortening legal discovery time, presenting objective, data-based analysis free of human cognitive bias, and identifying the root causes of disputes with unparalleled precision. The article concludes that AI integration in judicial RCA represents a paradigm change. It is a matter of strategy that will produce the robust, high-tech legal infrastructure that will drive the thriving, diversified economy Saudi Vision 2030 foresees.
