Ground-based light curve follow-up validation observations of TESS object of interest TOI 3617.01

Exoplanets are planets that orbit stars other than our sun. NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) aims to discover exoplanets orbiting around nearby stars. However, ground-based validation of exoplanet candidates identified by TESS is required. In this paper we will validate if TOI 3617.01 is a transiting exoplanet using data collected by GMU’s 0.8m Campus Telescope. The light curve generated from the data suggests that a transit could have occurred. However, we were missing data on the ingress of the transit and NEB analysis came back inconclusive, resulting in us concluding that further research needs to be done on TOI 3617.01 to validate if it is an exoplanet.
