From TESS to GMU: Ground-Based Photometry of TOI 3689.01
The increasing amount of data from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission displays the need for targeted, ground-based follow-up of exoplanet candidates that are promising. This study presents detailed photometric analysis of TOI 3689.01, a TESS-identified target of interest. We analyzed observational data acquired at George Mason University, implementing the use of Python for astrometric calibration. A multi-aperture photometric analysis was conducted using AstroImageJ to construct a light curve and implement the stellar profile. The resulting light curve displays a clear transit signature which provided compelling evidence that TOI 3689.01 is a genuine transiting exoplanet and a prime candidate for this research.
