Ground-based Light Curve Follow-up Validation Of TESS Object of Interest (TOI) 5443.01 Transit

NASA created the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) to search the sky for transit signals in stars, indicating a potential exoplanet. One such exoplanet candidate is TOI 5443.01. This paper presents follow-up ground based observations of TOI 5443.01 using the George Mason University 0.8-meter telescope. In this study, we demonstrated that TOI 5443.01 is a possible transiting exoplanet by utilizing AstroImageJ and constructing a light curve. Using aperture photometry, a light curve was generated and analyzed to locate a possible transit. Though, a follow-up analysis on Nearby Eclipsing Binaries (NEBs) needs to be performed to eliminate false positives.
