Ground-based Follow-up Observations of TOI 3616

This paper seeks to confirm TOI 3616, a candidate exoplanet discovered by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Mission. We collected data from a partial transit with George Mason University’s 32” ground-based telescope. We performed data reduction, multi-aperture photometry, the nearby eclipsing binary (NEB) check, and production of light curves on AstroImageJ. Furthermore, we analyzed even and odd transit curves generated by TESS to verify the absence of NEBs, the main cause of false positives. We believe there is ample proof to confirm TOI 3616, however, primarily due to the uncertainty generated by only capturing a partial transit, we have outlined further plans of study to reduce indeterminacy.
