CHANGES IN ANIMAL HABITATS DUE TO HUMAN ACTIVITIES AND THEIR IMPACT ON BIODIVERSITY
This study investigates the effects of human activities on animal habitats and the consequent impact on biodiversity. The introduction outlines the increasing pressure of urbanization, deforestation, and agriculture on natural ecosystems, emphasizing the urgency of understanding habitat alterations. Methods involved a comprehensive review and meta-analysis of existing ecological and environmental data from various geographic regions affected by anthropogenic factors. Results reveal significant habitat fragmentation, loss, and alteration leading to declines in species richness and abundance. Notably, habitat loss was correlated with reductions in both flora and fauna diversity, with certain sensitive species facing heightened risks of extinction. The discussion highlights the importance of sustainable land-use practices and conservation strategies to mitigate biodiversity loss. The findings underscore the critical need for integrated policies balancing human development and ecosystem preservation.
