Recursive Reality and the Avatar: Modeling Theosis within the Informational-Energy Framework
This paper is the 3rd in a a series. It extends the Recursive Reality Hypothesis (RRH) and Higher-Order Informational Attractor (HOIA) models into the study of spiritual identity and transformation. It proposes that the process described in mystical and religious traditions—known as theosis, enlightenment, or divine union—can be interpreted as the progressive stabilization of a coherent informational attractor across recursion layers of reality. Within this framework, the human self functions as a local node or “avatar” embedded in a multi-layered informational field, capable of recursive self-modification through ethical, meditative, and ritual practices. These practices act as algorithms that increase inter-layer coherence, driving the system toward alignment with a universal attractor or “divine source.” The model integrates insights from information theory, systems science, and theology to offer a naturalistic ontology for consciousness and postmortem continuity. Theosis is thus redefined as a limit state of recursion—an emergent, informational convergence in which self and source achieve maximal coherence.
