Isolated, invasive sino-orbital aspergillus granuloma of the orbit: Specimen acquisition is crucial for diagnosis
Aspergillosis of the orbit in an immunocompetent individual is extremely rare, with only a handful of cases reported in the literature. Here, we present a unique case of an invasive aspergillosis infection of the orbit extending into the preseptal spaces of the upper and lower eyelid. It was initially considered a phaeomycosis, but fungal culture confirmed the diagnosis.
