Investigating the radio properties and star formation activity of galaxy population at higher z
Galaxies are captivating celestial objects, with intricate dynamics that astronomers explore. This reveals the fundamental processes behind their formation and evolution, providing profound understanding of our vast universe. In this study, we investigate the radio properties and star formation activities of galaxies using archival data from the COSMOS surveys, encompassing a broad spectrum of observations, from optical to radio frequencies, coupled with associated redshift information. Our research incorporates 3GHz data, covering an extensive region of approximately 1.8 square degrees within the COSMOS field. Additionally, we analyze the data using photometric redshift, cataloging an impressive 10,830 sources detected at or above the 5σ significance level, effectively spanning a generous 2-square-degree area of the COSMOS field. To enhance our analysis, we also plan to integrate publicly available radio data obtained from SKA MeerKAT/MIGHTEE continuum observations conducted within the COSMOS field. In this poster, we outline the primary objectives of our research project and provide an overview of the data sources we are working on. We present our initial findings and provide a glimpse into our future work.
