ESTUDO DE CASO: ESTIMULAÇÃO MUSICAL LONGA DE UM COMATOSO
The electroencephalogram (EEG) is an essential tool for the neurological evaluation of comatose patients, distinguishing physiological patterns from pathological signs associated with poor prognosis. This article aims to quantitatively analyze the EEG of a 56-year-old patient with Hemorrhagic Stroke (HS), hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of UFU under sedation (RASS –5), and exposed to musical stimulation using Mozart’s Sonata K.448. The brain signal was recorded using 20 electrodes, placed according to the 10-20 systeme, sampled at 600 Hz, validated by neurologists, and segmented into silence and stimulation periods. The results revealed a greater contribution of Beta, especially during the 1st and 3rd minutes of stimulation. The Supergamma rhythm showed the highest percentage variation, particularly at electrode Cz, and the frontal electrodes demonstrated greater sensitivity to changes.
