UNIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NETWORKS: BEAUTY SALONS

ABSTRACT: The extension project “Beauty Salons” aims to articulate the university, community, and the productive sector, transforming salons into spaces of training, productive inclusion, and social appreciation. The initiative seeks to identify organizational needs and the entrepreneurial profile of the segment, in order to foster interactions that strengthen technical, managerial, and social skills, aligned with contemporary demands of the beauty market. Grounded in the inseparability of teaching, research, and extension, the project promotes the active participation of students and professors, encouraging the exchange of knowledge between academia and society. Through meetings and training activities, it adopts participatory methodologies that foster the protagonism of participants, stimulate innovation in management and customer service processes, and encourage sustainable practices. The expected results include expanding local employability and creating collaborative networks among the university, beauty salons, and partner institutions. The project also aims to promote female empowerment, improve business management, and encourage social entrepreneurship, strengthening community-oriented practices. Furthermore, it intends to value local knowledge and produce educational materials and scientific data to consolidate knowledge dissemination in the sector.
