Weitzenböck Bilateration Location Estimation: A Method for Indoor and Outdoor Applications Under Noise
Bilateration is a method of estimating the position of two anchors with known positions using a distance measurement between them. The three existing points form a triangle. The positions of the two points belonging to this triangle are known, and the distances to these points are also known. The aim here is to find the position of the third point. Geometric equations and inequalities can be used to obtain important information about this point. In this study, Weitzenböck’s inequality will be used to determine the boundary conditions of the location by only knowing the position of the anchors and distances to the anchors, unlike existing methods. The examples show that the proposed method can be applicable to indoor and outdoor applications under noise.
