Pre-Semantic Type Validation Layer (TVL) for Automated Consistency Guarantees (ACG)
This white paper presents the Type Validation Layer (TVL), a formal and implementable mechanism that guards the pre-formal layer (PFL) of reasoning systems to achieve Automated Pre-Semantic Consistency Guarantees (ACG). By validating the syntactic and categorical structure of expressions before semantic interpretation, TVL prevents self-referential and cross-level paradoxes (e.g., Liar, Curry, Yablo) at construction time rather than at truth-evaluation time. The guarantees are relative to TVL-admissible constructions and do not constitute self-consistency proofs of sufficiently strong systems, in accordance with Gödel’s incompleteness theorem. This approach bridges classical proof theory with AI safety engineering by embedding type and level constraints directly into the reasoning pipeline.
