SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZE NANOCELLULOS MAGNTIC IRON OXIDE NANOCOMPOSITE SORBENT FOR REMOVAL OF 2,4-DICHLOROPHENOXY ACETIC ACID FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION
Abstract In this study, agricultural waste of corn husk was used for the production of nanocellulose by diluted acid hydrolysis and Fe3O4 prepared by co-precipitation method and nanocelluloseMagnetic iron oxide composite was prepared by polymer based method for adsorption of 2,4-D and successfully characterized. The adsorption parameters for the removal of 2,4-D herbicides was investigated and analyzing using UV-Visible Spectrophotometry at 230 nm. The maximum adsorption capacity of the adsorbent investigated via monolayer formation was determined about 95.6% at all the parameters were optimum point. The adsorption of 2,4-D on the nanocellulose-Magnetic iron oxide nanocomposite was best fitted to Langmuir isotherm model (R2=0.9829),While the kinetics of herbicide adsorption on this adsorbent, was the most suitable to pseudo-second order model(R2=0.999).The presented study proved that nanocellulose-Iron oxide nanocomposite could be promising adsorbents for effective removal of 2,4-D from aqueous environment.
