EFFECTIVE METHODS OF PREVENTING OBESITY IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

Abstract Examinations carried out in modern times confirm the widespread prevalence of obesity among adults, and also allow us to say that this disease is observed at an earlier age, among children and adolescents. The article presents information on the prevalence of obesity in children and adolescents in our modern life, and considers the issues of etiology, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of the disease. In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of children with overweight (obesity) problems all over the world. Thus, the trend of increasing the number of pathological cases of excess body weight has become one of the important problems of pediatrics. It is known that the role of both genetic and environmental factors and lifestyle is important in the development of obesity in children. All this shows the prevalence of obesity and the urgency of combating it. At the same time, unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity are the main determinants of the development of obesity. However, the complexity of the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease requires the development of evidence-based comprehensive measures involving not only medical science but also society and the family for its prevention and treatment. Therefore, further research is needed to effectively solve the problem of obesity in children and adolescents.
