Relational Emergent Principles: Foundations for a General Theory of Systems
This paper introduces a novel foundation for a General Theory ofSystems based on two fundamental relational principles and five universalemergent patterns. We demonstrate that systems across diversedomains—from ecology to software architecture—share fundamentalorganizational structures emerging from common principles, exhibitinguniversal properties such as qualitative saturation and patterncompleteness. The theory is computationally verified through extensivesimulations across five domains, revealing a consistent saturationpoint at Ns ≈ 13 elements and the emergence of exactly five canonicalorganizational patterns. This work provides a unified frameworkfor understanding, analyzing, and engineering complex systems acrossdisciplines.
