R = EDOC: The Informational Continuum of Reality
EDOC (Energy–Data–Observation–Consciousness) describes reality as a continuous process of informational causation. It proposes that existence is not a set of independent entities evolving in space and time, but a continuous transformation of information through four causal states — Energy (potential), Data (encoded structure), Observation (realized record), and Consciousness (rendered meaning). Each complete causal cycle (E→D→O→C→E) constitutes one realized frame of existence (F = 1 EDOC). The EDOC Addenda formalize this framework quantitatively: Addendum I defines the operator environment (C∘O∘D∘E)(x); Addendum II introduces the coherence ceiling parameter Ωᴱ; Addendum III establishes the causal metric set {F, Γ, Ωᴱ, X_EDOC}; and Addendum IV extends these to predictive and thermodynamic bounds. Together they yield a closed, testable causal continuum linking informational, physical, and semantic domains. Empirical constants such as h, c, k_B, and G remain structural coefficients within this informational framework, anchoring it to measurable physics. EDOC presents a unified, operational theory of reality as continuous informational causality. This publication is the parent framework for the EDOC Academic Addenda Series, which develops and formalizes specific layers of the continuum. Each addendum extends the main framework without altering its foundation: Addendum Title DOI Scope Summary I Mathematical Environment Definition (V1) 10.5281/zenodo.17380530 Establishes the formal operator environment for EDOC: E, D, O, C acting on the informational manifold ℐ; defines F = (C ∘ O ∘ D ∘ E)(x). II Arrow and Carrier Principle (V1) 10.5281/zenodo.17408331 Introduces the coherence ceiling parameter Ωᴱ, linking causal fidelity to physical carriers and ensuring informational conservation. III Causal Metrics Definition (V1) 10.5281/zenodo.17409179 Defines the measurable causal-metric set {F, Γ, Ωᴱ, ηₚ, X_EDOC}, connecting informational causality to empirically observable rates and quantities. IV Predictive Outlook (Refined V1) 10.5281/zenodo.17409623 Extends the metric set into empirical mappings and predictive formulations; introduces the Informational Integration Principle and calibration heuristic ΔE Δt ≈ κₕ h (0 < κₕ ≤ 1).
