AN ANALYTICAL STUDY OF FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF INDIAN FMCG COMPANIES
This study explores the financial performance of selected Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies in India. FMCG is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Indian economy, and it is characterized by intense competition and dynamic consumer behavior. The research aims to analyse and compare the financial health of key players in the sector by employing various financial ratios and performance metrics. The selected FMCG companies include HUL, ITC, Dabu, Britannia, Godrej Consumer Products, Colgate Palmolive, Tata Consumer Products, and United Spirits, which are known for their significant market share and financial stability. The study uses secondary data obtained from these companies' annual reports and other financial disclosures over the past five years, from 2020 to 2024. Key performance indicators such as profitability, liquidity, solvency, and efficiency ratios are evaluated to assess their financial robustness. The findings reveal substantial variations in financial performance across the selected companies, with certain firms demonstrating more efficient use of capital and resources than others. The results also highlight the impact of external market conditions, regulatory frameworks, and consumer preferences on the financial outcomes of FMCG companies in India. This study provides valuable insights for investors, financial analysts, and policymakers by better understanding how FMCG companies manage financial challenges and opportunities in a competitive market environment.
