Determinant of Effective Adoption and Implementation of Integrated Financial Information Management System in Ethiopian Revenue Minster and Custom commission Dire Dawa Branch
Despite the major anticipation and role of IFMIS for making information on public finances inclusive, efficient, secure and transparent, the systems frequently fail to realize the promised benefits due to failure of effective adoption and implementation in most developing countries. Hence, the major objective of the current study was investigating the determinants of IFMIS adoption and implementation in the case of Ethiopian revenue and custom authority Dire Dawa branch. The study used a mixed research approach targeting 234 employees of the organization that were selected using simple random sampling. Questionnaires, interview and secondary sources were used to collect the data. To examine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables, multiple linear regressions and correlation were used. The finding indicated that perceived usefulness significantly affects IFMIS adoption. Also it confirms that perceived easy to use on IFMIS adoption effect was strong and subjective norm moderately effects IFMIS adoption. Further the second objectives result indicates that ICT infrastructure,; human resource development and capacity building; management support effect; end user commitment; on going support affected effective implementation of IFMIS system. Hence, the researcher recommends that the organization shall work on those identified factors and shall give managerial and political direction for better organizational performance and implementation of intergraded financial management information system
