SELECTION OF THE OPTIMAL PROGRAM FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF POLYMER FLOODING IN A FIELD WITH HIGH-VISCOSITY OIL

Optimizing the development system of Kazakhstan's mature oil fields is extremely important in maintaining a stable level of oil production and ensuring the economic efficiency of the country's oil industry. Most mature fields have been exploited since the 20th century, while the transition to late development is accompanied by a decrease in production and an increase in water cut, which often leads to a deterioration in the quality of residual oil and an increase of hard-to-recover reserves. Moreover, as we approach the profitability threshold, the range of available methods for increasing oil recovery is significantly reduced, which complicates the task of choosing an effective method for increasing the oil recovery factor. In addition to the problems associated with the operation of wells at a late stage of development, many difficulties arise due to geological features caused by discontinuities, reservoir heterogeneity, and the fluid model. These factors significantly complicate the uniform displacement of oil from the reservoir, which is why an integrated approach to solving development problems is necessary. This paper examines ways to solve the above problems using the example of a high-viscosity field at a late stage of development, by considering various options and calculating oil production using a hydrodynamic model.
