Optical Poling of Ferroelectric Liquids (Advanced Optical Materials 29/2025)
Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals The figure shows a novel singular spiral-shaped arrangement of the polar director, induced by focused beam irradiation in ferroelectric nematic thin cells built with lithium niobate ferroelectric substrates. The spatial distribution of the polarization field is represented by red arrows. In this radial vortex-like polar structure the spiral shaped center reduces the charge density related to splay deformation.
