ChatGPT for President! Presupposed content in politicians versus GPT-generated texts

Instruments and Corpus Used in the Paper “ChatGPT for President! Presupposed Content in politicians versus GPT-generated texts” (Applied Corpus Linguistics). Files: a) Codebook_PMP – Contains detailed instructions for labeling the data according to the relevant analytical categories. b) Corpus_Politicians_GPT – Includes the 16 texts used for the analysis. c) Data_annotation – An Excel table containing the annotations for each text in the corpus. The data were annotated for (potentially manipulative) presupposition and vagueness; however, only presupposition was considered in the analysis. Moreover, although a secondary function of presupposition was annotated, only the primary one was included in the final analysis. d) Dataframe_analysis – The final version of the Excel file used for the quantitative analysis. e) R scripts – Includes the R code used to compute interrater agreement, generate data visualizations, and produce descriptive statistics reported in the paper.
