Comparison of GC% at Codon Positions Between Osteichthyes and Chondrichthyes

Title:Comparison of GC% at Codon Positions Between Osteichthyes and Chondrichthyes Description:This dataset and accompanying manuscript present a comparative analysis of GC content at the three codon positions across 90 fish species (45 Osteichthyes and 45 Chondrichthyes), using data retrieved from the Kazusa Codon Usage Database. Descriptive statistics were computed in Microsoft Excel, and boxplot visualization was generated with AI-assisted tools (OpenAI GPT-based models and Claude by Anthropic). The results confirm that GC variation is concentrated at the third codon position, reflecting mutational and evolutionary processes rather than environmental adaptation.
