Preanalysis plan and files for: Interviews with negotiators involved in the talks (Sondierungsgespräche) about why negotiations about a Jamaica coalition failed in 2017

The goal is to collect information from individuals involved in failed negotiations ("Sondierungsgespräche") regarding a potential Jamaica coalition government in Germany following the 2017 federal election. This preanalysis plan (PAP) outlines the elements and choices of the data collection process prior to sending invitations to potential interviewees (starts on October, 14th, 2025). Thus, the criterion of ex ante unobservability of the data is met. This PAP and the supplementary files do not address the analysis of interview data. Fabian Schmid is responsible for sending invitations, conducting interviews, and preparing them for analysis. Ingo Rohlfing will not have access to the interviews unless another PAP for data analysis is registered.
