Kikuchi Fujimotos Disease: A Rare Case Report
Kikuchi Fujimotos disease is a rare variety of necrotising lymphadenitis. The condition is a rare, non-malignant, and self-limiting disorder that typically occurs in young adults of either sex. The etiology is obscure and clinical presentation is fever with cervical lymphadenopathy. Immunohistochemistry usually shows variable features; hence its diagnosis is exclusively from histopathology. The careful evaluation and early lymph node biopsy obviate the need for unnecessary investigations. We present a case of Kikuchi Fujimotos disease in a 36-year-old male patient who presented with left cervical lymphadenopathy for 6 months. The lymph node was excised and on histopathological examination it was diagnosed as Kikuchi Fujimotos disease.
