TAXONOMIC COMPOSITION AND ECOLOGICAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES OF ALGAE THE FAMILY FRAGILLARIACEAE (KÜTZ.) D. T, COMMON IN AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS OF THE NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC
The study of the taxonomic composition and ecological-geographical features of diatoms (Bacillariophyta) is being conducted for the first time in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The quality and ecological state of water in reservoirs and rivers are assessed based on the taxonomic structure of algae and the level of development of algal communities. Since algae are very sensitive to changes in environmental conditions, they are widely used in assessing the biological characteristics of water bodies [Barinova S.S. et al. 2015; Adil Al-Handal1 et al. 2016; Dzhafarova S.K. et al. 2018; Marina Potapova, 2014]. Algae are very sensitive to changes in environmental conditions, and they are widely used in assessing the biological characteristics of water bodies [Мarina Usoltseva1 и др. 2023; 13, 2016; Cüneyt Nadir Solak и.др. 2012]. The intensity of distribution of diatom species of the genus Fragilaria Lyngb. 1819 depends on the type of water and rivers, the altitudinal zone in which they are located, the season of the year and the temperature of their waters [Mukhtarova Sh.Dzh., et al. 2012; Seifali Kahramanov, 2016, 2021, 2023]. During the conducted research, 12 species belonging to 6 genera of the family Fragillariaceae (Kütz.) D. T. were discovered. The largest number of species was found in the genera Fragilaria Lyngb. 1819 – 4, Cymbella C., Agardh 1830, Pinnularia Ehrenb. 1840 and Navicula Bory 1826 – 2 species each.
