Solar Cell Enhancement from Supercritical CO2 Dye Surface Modification of Mesoporous TiO2 Photoanodes
The Cover Feature shows how surface modification using supercritical carbon dioxide in a circular, sustainable and green process has been achieved to produce a significant increase in device performance. Small oligothiophene dyes with masked silyl-binding group were deposited rapidly by using supercritical carbon dioxide methods. The process eliminated the use of conventional toxic solvents and the production of unwanted waste. Controlled chemical decoration by this method gave unexpected photovoltaic response enhancement. More information can be found in the Research Article by S. Maniam, G. E. Collis and co-workers. The authors would like to thank Dr. Adrian Trinchi for assistance with creating the cover art.
