APPLICATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLES ON GREEN LIBRARIES WORLD OVER WITH FOCUS ON INDIA

The paper aims to evaluate sustainable development and initiatives undertaken by institutions across the globe and specifically in India in relation to Green Library. The paper discusses the various measures that make green library feasible. The paper also throws light on three pillars of sustainable development which are further segregated into sustainable economy, social sustainability and environmental management and act as the foundation of green library movement. Various standards both national and international are discussed in depth along with their limitations.
