Product spacing estimation of Weibull distribution under combined type Ⅱ generalized progressive hybrid censoring scheme

Under the classical estimation framework, the maximum product spacings estimation method has been shown to be highly effective. Several researchers have suggested MPSE as a viable alternative to the maximum likelihood estimation method, reporting that it often yields more accurate estimates than MLF in various scenarios. In this study, we develop parameter estimators of the Weibull distribution under a combined type Ⅱ generalized progressive hybrid censoring scheme. Specifically, we first, derive the MPSEs for the paramenters of the WeibD, and then obtain their approximate forms using a Taylor series expansion. The performance of the proposed estimators is evaluated in terms of mean squared error and bias under the specified censoring scheme. Finally, the applicability of the proposed approach is illustrated through a real data example.
