A System and Method for Geodesic Neuro-Cognitive Mapping in an Immersive Mixed Reality Environment
Abstract The present invention discloses a system, method, and apparatus for generating a navigable, three-dimensional visualization of a user's real-time neuro-cognitive state within an immersive mixed reality (MR) environment. The apparatus comprises a hardware module configured for removable attachment to a host MR headset. The module incorporates a multi-modal sensor array, including at least one inertial measurement unit (IMU), at least one depth sensor, an electroencephalography (EEG) sensor array, and a functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) sensor array. A method, executed by a processing system, receives synchronized data streams from the sensor array and other cooperative sensors. This method constructs a high-dimensional geometric manifold, termed a General Reality Manifold (GRM), representing the user's subjective state. The system then renders a navigable, three-dimensional visualization of said manifold within the MR environment, thereby enabling the user to perform geodesic navigation of their own subjective state-space through a closed-loop bio-feedback mechanism.
