DEVELOPING STUDENTS' WRITING SKILLS THROUGH DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
Developing effective writing skills remains one of the most challenging yet essential aspects of second language education. Writing requires learners to integrate linguistic knowledge, cognitive organization, and creative expression. However, traditional one-size-fits-all instruction often fails to address the diversity of learners’ abilities, interests, and learning styles. Differentiated instruction (DI) provides a learner-centered framework that accommodates individual differences through flexible content, process, and assessment. This paper examines how differentiated instruction can be effectively applied to enhance students’ writing proficiency in English language classrooms. The study explores theoretical foundations, practical strategies, and teacher roles in implementing differentiation for writing instruction. Findings indicate that differentiation improves motivation, confidence, and overall writing quality by meeting students’ diverse linguistic and cognitive needs.
