Neoteratura triangularis Wang & Ren & Shi & Chang 2025, sp. nov.

Neoteratura triangularis sp. nov., Chinese name: 三ssḁšạŝ (Fig. 2) Description. Male. Body small. Head. Fastigium verticis protruding forward, apex rounded, furrowed on dorsal surface. Eyes globular, protruding forward. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly shorter than subapical one, apical area inflated. Anterior margin of pronotum straight, posterior margin rounded; lateral lobes longer than deep; humeral sinus indistinct (Fig. 2A–B). Tegmina and wings. Tegmina broad and short, slightly surpassing apices of hind femora; hind wings shorter than tegmina. Legs. All femora without spines on ventral surfaces. Fore coxa with a spine; fore tibial tympana open on both sides, fore tibia with 2 external and 3 internal long spines on ventral surface, with 1 pair of short ventral apical spurs. Middle tibia with 1 external and 3 internal long spines on ventral surface, with 1 pair of short ventral apical spurs. Hind tibia with 23–27 short spines on both sides of dorsal surface separately, bearing 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 1 pair of ventral apical spurs. Abdomen. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a median concavity. Cercus compressed and divided into two branches, dorsal branch short, spiniform, apex subactue; ventral branch with base broad, middle area incurved, subapical area slightly narrow, apical area divided into two short processes with apices rounded (Fig. 2C–D). Genitalia divided into two parts, dorsal part nearly triangular, subapical area slightly curved ventrad and dorsal surface with a short conical process; apex rounded (Fig. 2E); ventral part slightly sclerotized, the middle of dorsal surface with two lamellate processes widely separated at base, apices of which with 3–4 conical processes; apical area with a lamellate process, posterior margin rounded (Fig. 2F). Subgenital plate with base broad, narrowing, apex rounded. Styli conical, inserted on ventral surface of subapical area of subgenital plate (Fig. 2G). Coloration. Body green when alive, eyes brown. Spines and spurs of hind tibia black. Female. Cercus long conical, apex rounded. Ovipositor moderately upcurved, both margins smooth, apex acute. Subgenital plate nearly trapezoidal, posterior margin truncate (Fig. 2H–I). Material examined. Holotype: ♂, Fenshuiling, Jinping, Yunnan, 23 September, 2023, collected by Hao Xu. Paratype: 1♀, Fenshuiling, Jinping, Yunnan, 23 September, 2023, collected by Yueting Duan. Measurements (mm). Body length: ♂ 10.6, ♀ 10.9; pronotum length: ♂ 5.0, ♀ 4.8; tegmen length: ♂ 10.0, ♀ 11.2; hind femur length: ♂ 8.8, ♀ 9.2; ovipositor length: 6.3. Discussion. The new species resembles Neoteratura longigenitala Shi & Zhang, 2021, the differences are: male cercus with dorsal branch short, spiniform; subapical area of ventral branch slightly narrow, apical area divided into two short petals with apices rounded. This new species is also similar to Neoteratura conica Shi & Zhang, 2021, it differs from the latter in: ventral branch of male cercus with subapical area slightly narrow, apical area divided into two short petals. Dorsal part of genitalia nearly triangular, subapical area slightly curved ventrad and dorsal surface with a short conical process. Etymology. The name of new species is derived from dorsal part of male genitalia nearly triangular, Latin triangularis means triangular. Distribution. China (Yunnan).
