Quantum Wave-Impulse Model of Consciousness: A Rigorous and Falsifiable Framework
We present a unified quantum-cognitive model that integrates wave dynamics in a multidimensionalcognitive space with a two-phase impulse model of thought formation. The model addresses acritical gap in neuroscience by formalizing the transition from intuition (quantum superposition andentanglement) to logic (functional decoherence/collapse). Consciousness is described as a quantumwave function ψ(C, t) evolving under a Hamiltonian ˆH that couples cognitive states, latent informationalcontext, and brain activity. We provide direct neurophysiological correlates, associatingthe intuitive phase with theta (θ) oscillations and the logical phase with gamma (γ) oscillations. We introduce measurable and behaviorally-linked parameters (decoding efficiency η, processing delayτ , and cognitive development D). The framework offers clear positive empirical predictionsand explicit falsification criteria, ensuring its empirical testability via advanced neuroimaging andquantum-sensitive instrumentation.
