Leucothoe akaisen White & Reimer 2012

Leucothoe akaisen White & Reimer, 2012 [New Japanese name: Akaisen-maruhasami-yokoebi] Figs. 2–4 Leucothoe akaisen White & Reimer, 2012c: 18–22, figs. 3, 4, 15D. — White & Machida, 2018: 2–3, fig. 2A. Material examined. Holotype and paratype specimens of Le. akaisen were reexamined. Holotype male, 2.8 mm, RUMF-ZC- 1854, Sunabe Seawall, Okinawajima Island, Okinawa, spur and groove reef (26°19'25"N, 127°44'43"E), among coral rubble, 6–9 m, K.N. White and N.S. White, col., 16 October 2010 (KNWOkinawa12E). Paratype female, 3.4 mm, RUMF-ZC- 1855, Yona, Kunigami, Okinawajima Island, Okinawa, reef wall (26°45'56"N, 128°11'46"E), among coral rubble, 9 m, K.N. White and N.S. White, col., 23 October 2010 (KNWOkinawa15F). Remarks. Most characteristics were consistent with the original description of Leucothoe akaisen (White & Reimer, 2012c). Additionally, several characters were newly found from the re-examination of the type specimens: (1) accessory flagellum of antenna 1 consists of 1 article (Fig. 2A); (2) mandible has molar-like-structure (sensu White 2019), located near (distal side) base of palp (Fig. 2C); (3) gnathopod 1 merus is distally tapering, with 2 setae apically (Figs 3A, 4A); (4) medial surface of gnathopod 2 carpus has a robust seta distally (Figs 3B–D, 4B–D); (5) female gnathopod 2 dactylus has two fine setae on the facial area (Fig. 4B).
