Automated Anomaly Detection and Root Cause Analysis in Kubernetes Container Network Infrastructure using Spectral Graph Convolutional Networks and Reinforcement Learning
**Abstract:** This paper introduces a novel hybrid approach, Spectral Graph Convolutional Network and Reinforcement Learning for Automated Kubernetes Network Anomaly Detection and Root Cause Analysis (SGCN-RL-KNA), for proactive and autonomous IT infrastructure monitoring. Current Kubernetes network monitoring solutions often struggle with complex inter-container dependencies, dynamic network topologies, and lack precise root-cause identification. Our system leverages Spectral Graph Convolutional Networks (SGCNs) to model the Kubernetes network as a graph, efficiently learning emergent network patterns and detecting anomalies based on deviations from these learned patterns. Subsequently, a Reinforcement Learning (RL) agent iteratively refines anomaly explanations by navigating the network graph, dynamically prioritizing viewpoints and identifying the most probable root causes. This enables faster incident resolution, reduced downtime, and improved overall system reliability within Kubernetes environments, exhibiting a potential 30-50% reduction in Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) compared to traditional methods.
