Δf Mechanism in Friction and Lubrication Systems (USP Field Theory – Applied Δf Mechanisms v1.1)
This work extends USP Field Theory to tribology, proposing that friction and lubrication arise from frequency mismatch (Δf) across surface resonance boundaries rather than physical contact. Lubricants are described as Δf stabilizers that widen the harmonic neutrality corridor, reducing dephasing and thermal loss. The model introduces the effective mismatch relation Δf_eff = Δf_ss · S(ω) / β_lub, and links dissipation directly to field parameters via Q_heat = k_h ∫[Δf_eff(t)]² dt. Empirical and theoretical parameters—β_lub, spectral factor S(ω), viscosity η, and gravitational modulation γ_g—are formalized with dimensional clarity. The document connects classical friction laws (Amontons, Reynolds, Stribeck) to field-based resonance theory and provides testable equations for Δf damping, energy dissipation, and spectral response.
