MAJAZ DALAM PUISI “ASYHADU AN LÂ IMRA’AN ILLÂ ANTI” KARYA NIZAR QOBBANI

Abstract: The poem Asyhadu An Lâ Imra’an Illâ Anti by Nizar Qabbani is one of the prominent works in modern Arabic poetry, rich with figurative expressions, especially majaz (metaphor). This study aims to identify and analyze the types of majaz used throughout the poem. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical approach within the framework of balāghah (Arabic rhetoric), particularly bayān science, the research explores metaphorical meanings employed by Qabbani to depict love, longing, and admiration for the figure of a woman. Data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques, and then classified into majaz lughawī (lexical metaphor) and majaz ‘aqli (logical metaphor), accompanied by analysis of ‘alaqah (relational link) and qarinah (contextual indicators). The results reveal seven instances of majaz lughawī, including isti‘ārah and majaz mursal, and three examples of majaz ‘aqli involving relational aspects like causality and spatial association.
