Consideration of Modern Problems of Import Substitution of Automated Weight and Balance Systems and the Proposal of New Tools for Building Aircraft Central of Gravity in New Software Packages
This study addresses the critical challenges of import substitution for automated systems in civil aviation, focusing specifically on aircraft weight and balance systems. An in-depth analysis of the domestic software market reveals significant non-compliance of existing solutions with the stringent requirements mandated for automated flight processing information systems and their databases, particularly when deployed at critical information infrastructure facilities. The research examines prevalent systems in the Russian market, namely "WB-Garantiya" and Airport@Cloud Weight&Balance. The analysis establishes that the database management systems they utilize (Firebird 2.5 and Oracle) fail to meet current regulatory standards for information security, posing potential risks for operational continuity and data protection. As a solution, the development of new domestic software complexes is proposed. This article narrows its focus to a pivotal module within such a system: the toolkit for generating and displaying weight and balance graphs. Two distinct technological approaches were designed and developed. The fi rst approach employs image loading and a linear interpolation method to map computational data onto pixel coordinates of a pre-loaded graph image; this solution prioritizes high processing speed and user interface responsiveness. The second approach involves creating a vector-based graph editor integrated with an algorithm (e.g., ray-casting) for precise verification that calculated weight and balance parameters remain within established limits. This method ensures superior accuracy in validating that the aircraft’s center of gravity stays within the permissible envelope, thus enhancing flight safety. The proposed toolkits are designed for integration into new, fully compliant Russian software packages for aircraft weight and balance calculation, contributing to the strategic goal of technological independence.
