With the help of Stuart Hall's cultural identity theory, this paper analyzes the aesthetic evolution process of identity narrative in Macao films through a close reading of three representative films, *Seduction of a Woman with a Big Braid*, *Ao Gu* and *Sisterhood*. It shows that the identity narrative of Macao films has evolved from pursuing a stable and essentialized "shared culture" identity, to experiencing identity fragmentation and confusion in the post-colonial context, and finally to actively "producing" a new identity recognition through shared memory and emotional narrative.
