Karakteristik Demografi dan Klinis Berdasarkan Status Gizi Pasien Covid-19 Wisma Atlet

Nutritional status has emerged as a critical determinant of clinical outcomes in Covid-19, affecting immune competence, disease severity, and recovery trajectories. This study aimed to examine the demographic and clinical characteristics of Covid-19 patients based on nutritional status at the Wisma Atlet Covid-19 Emergency Hospital in Jakarta. A cross-sectional observational design was employed, involving 572 non-ICU inpatients during February–March 2021. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements, structured interviews, and medical record analysis. Statistical analysis included Kruskal–Wallis and Chi-square tests. The majority of patients were classified as overweight (34.4%) or obese (33.4%). Significant differences across nutritional groups were observed in age, sex, comorbidities, and hospital diet types (p<0.05). However, no significant differences were found in length of stay, initial symptoms, smoking history, food intake, or fluid consumption (p>0.05). Obese patients had a higher prevalence of hypertension and were more frequently prescribed low-sodium diets, while underweight individuals predominantly received high-energy, high-protein meals. These findings highlight the role of nutritional status in shaping demographic and clinical profiles, underscoring the need for targeted nutrition interventions in Covid-19 management. Keywords: Covid-19, nutritional status, clinical characteristics, demographic
