Determining the viscosity of shock absorber oils and the use of silicone oil in agricultural machine shock absorbers

The article discusses the use of silicone fl uids as a working medium in shock absorbers of agricultural machines. A comparative analysis of the visco-temperature characteristics of mixtures of silicone and petroleum oils is conducted, and the advantages of silicone oils in terms of viscosity stability over a wide range of temperatures, thermal stability, and low volatility are identifi ed. Theoretical calculations of the optimal ratio of silicone oil PMS-10 and petroleum oil HVLP-46 for shock absorbers are presented. Recommendations for the use of the mixture in shock absorbers are proposed.
